Investment Criteria The Camino Real Angels invests in companies located in the Greater El Paso region including Southern New Mexico. These companies must demonstrate that they have the potential to rapidly expand into market and financial leadership. This would imply potential for high growth, a strong market position, and a sustainable advantage. Our criteria specifically includes: A compelling, well articulated strategy for capturing and defending a significant market share. Intellectual property, proprietary technology or other strong barriers to entry. Strong management (not necessarily a complete team) with relevant and successful experience. A market opportunity sufficiently large enough to create a business with significant annual revenues. An exit strategy for the investors. A desire for advice and coaching. Lastly, the company valuation must fit within our risk/reward expectations for the investment. Unless there is an existing personal connection, we do not consider investments in companies based outside of the Greater El Paso Region. Use of Funds We seek proposals where the capital infusion desired (approximately $1-2 million, or less) will take the company to the next level, and materially increase its valuation. A company must be able to demonstrate how it will use our investment to complete at least some of the following: Market research Product launch Major contract or customers Management team Reduce other investment risks Proof of concept Prototype of its product or technology Patent filing (for broad patent) Product development Decision Process A comprehensive process has been developed to make our investment decisions. Proposal Submission We receive many proposals and give priority consideration to opportunities that are championed by our members. We discover opportunities through our personal networks and through the strong relationships that we maintain with local accounting, legal and professional services firms, as well as VC firms and universities. We strongly encourage you to seek an introduction to our members through one of these sources. We accept only electronic submissions. Camino Real Angels does not sign Non-Disclosure Agreements for initial proposals. Do not include confidential information. If there is sufficient interest, an NDA may be negotiated at a later time.
